Spark Plus IO HDMI and MacBook Pro - encode resolution issue

Encoding HDMI from a MacbookPro; problem is that even with MBP display resolution for the Spark set to 1080, it's encoding at UHD (3840x2160). Though A/V comes through fine into Tricaster 2 Elite, this creates 2 issues:
  • The monitor connected to the loop output of the Spark doesn't support 4K
  • The teleprompter monitors connected to a Spark on the studio floor also don't support 4K
My workaround is feeding the encoding Spark into a Mix output, then sending that Mix to an TC NDI Output stream. Since session is set to 1080, Mix scales the UHD to 1080 on output.

Question: Why is the Spark not encoding at 1080, as that's what the MBP Display output is set for? I also tested the output using a teleprompter app that has it's own display output settings - I use that often on the MBP when it's directed connected to a prompter monitor that DOES support 4K, but needs to be 1080 for legibility.
