Hi everyone,

I've got a site up with free music and soundscapes that you can use in your videos, animations, games or anything else you can think of. It's all original...all my own work...all I ask is to be credited as indicated on my homepage:

I sincerely hope my tracks are helpful. Any and all feedback is welcome and always appreciated.

Thanks!

You're very welcome!

Happy New Year everyone!

I've begun the process of creating looping versions of my Fantasy and Sci-Fi tracks, starting with the oldest ones. The links to download the looping versions appear right under the original versions.

I hope this will be especially helpful to my game developer friends! :) If you happen to want any of my newer tracks looped immediately, send me an email and I'll see what I can do.

For those of you who don't know, I post daily updates of new tracks here:
https://www.facebook.com/soundimage.org
https://twitter.com/EricMatyas

And playlists of my tracks are here:

My site was down yesterday for a few hours due to trouble caused by a plug-in. Fortunately, everything is resolved now. Thanks for being patient and I hope some of my tracks will be useful!

Thanks.

Thanks very much, working now.

I just skimmed it briefly and you got a lot there...which will take some time to browse through, some stuff I like, others a bit too synthesized and uniform perhaps..but I regognize you have made a variety of sound carpets to fit a multitude of scenarios.
Curious to what instruments you have been using?

I love movie scores, ambient music etc..
I thought I could recognize a bit of Vangelis inspiration perhaps in one of the first clips "enchanted places"
Dream voyager sounds nice with a bit of more contrast when you got some drums in there too.

I got me an old roland D50 ages ago, not using it sadly..don´t have time for it, wish I had...Had some cool soundcarpets made etc..but I reckon I have forgotten how to play now, had one expansion card for the d50 that made the sounds "thicker" I could also plug it to my creative soundblaster card and use soundfonts, that was cool..and I was planning to record my own soundsamples and use with that..but, too little time.

Personally I enjoy...

Vangelis
Brian Eno
Peter gabriel (birdy a masterpiece) last temptation of christ isn´t bad either.
Michael Oldfield
Daniel lanoi
Kate Bush
U2

More specific music score writers that I like...Michael Nyman "gattaca" Elliot Goldenthal "Titus" Thomas Newman "meet joe black" "American Beauty" "shawshank redemption"...and of course a few scores of John williams and james horner.
Claus Badelt for his "Time Machine"
Alexandre Desplat ..wonderful music for "The curious case of Benjamin button"

Yeah, I'm a big Vangelis fan as well...have been for a long time. Everything I create is with a Korg synth...it goes right into my computer where I record/edit/mix in Sonar. It's a very simple setup.

That's too bad about your D50...I've always wanted to try a Roland.

Thanks for the music!!

I do just a little composing myself anymore, but I know how addicting and fun it can be. I use to do a lot of it until I injured my right hand about 20 years and suffered some nerve damage in the fingers.

My faves and likes are:

Vangelis
Jean Michel Jarre
Pink Floyd
Allen Parsons Project

and a lot of older New Age [70's] and Movie/TV Theme music in general.

If I ever use a track in any of my 3D or other work, I will credit you.

I just love having something different to listen to.

Once again, Thanks

Hi everyone,

I had to split up some of my genres (like Fantasy) so they now span multiple pages. This was done in order to improve performance of the site and (hopefully) make hunting for tracks a bit more manageable. If you have any problems finding anything, just let me know.

“Vast Places” (on the Quiet/Peaceful/Mellow Page)
http://soundimage.org/quiet-peaceful-mellow/
