NDI Ports on Mini 4K Not Working with Cameras

When I connect my PTZ cameras to the NDI ports on the back of my Mini 4K, they're not appearing as a source in either the Tricaster software or NDI Studio Monitor on the Mini. I'm certain there's something simple I'm missing here, but for the life of me I can't seem to figure it out.

The Mini has the latest build of the of the Tricaster software. The cameras are PTZOptics PT20X-SDI-GY-G2s that have been firmware upgraded to support NDI|HX. If I plug them into the network with the Mini, it can see the cameras just fine in both the Tricaster software and Studio Monitor. Studio Monitor on a separate PC can also see and control the cameras.

I have tried them set to both static and dynamic IPs within the cameras themselves. Both yielded the same results. When I look at the ports on that network adaptor, it shows that the cameras are connected. If I connect a Spark to those ports it works fine. It's just the cameras that aren't working.

This isn't a deal breaker. The cameras work fine on the network. I was just hoping to have the PoE functionality of the Mini for convenience and now it's become a mental crusade to find the answer, even if the answer is "those cameras aren't supported on those ports."

Thanks in advance for any help.

Does the Mini 4K have the DHCP Service running? For direct connect sources you need that running so that devices will configure an IP address.

Hi Kane,

The DHCP service is running. I tried disabling it, rebooting, enabling it, and then rebooting just to make sure. The problem persists. I double checked the Spark Plus to make sure it's working, and it is.

OMG, I got it! PTZOptics has a tool for configuring their cameras called Upgrade. I originally used it to update the firmware so I could apply NDI unlock keys, but apparently it can also be used to force static or dynamic IPs. I forced it to dynamic using that rather than the web interface. After that, I plugged it into the NDI port, power cycled the camera, and the Mini is now properly assigning an IP address.

Thanks again for the assistance! Also, your timer app is excellent and I intend to use it once this thing is fully rolled out! :)
