viz console

My Viz Engine console settings somehow got changed and I can't seem to restore them.

The main issue is that the console buffer/history is no longer retained, so I have to change the buffer settings every time I start the console. I vaguely remember these settings being stored in the registry years ago, but I can't find where they are stored in recent versions.

Does anyone know:

• Where the Viz Engine console settings are stored?
• Whether there is a registry key or config file that can be deleted/reset?
• Any way to restore the console to its default settings?

I'm running Viz Engine 5.x on Windows.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

very strange. have you tried backing up and deleting your CFG file for config? then letting it generate a new one? Only down side is you will have to reconfigure a couple of preferences again ect.

Thanks, but no, it isn't in the config file.
Deleting the shortcut was the solution

I have not run into this personally, but it sounds like the console settings are not being saved properly between sessions. It may be worth checking whether Viz Engine has permission to write its configuration files or registry entries. Hopefully someone familiar with version 5.x can point to the exact location for resetting the console settings.

This went through viz's official support and it was thieve guidance to delete the shortcut I used. As I wrote, I have had it before, but that was viz 3.x then, at that time it was a registry settings (i think it was current user/software/console/viz or a like)
