How to transport New Tricaster Vizion Tower chassis

hello everyone,

We are thinking of investing in the new Tricaster vizion tower chassis model.
However, it is not rackable. We are looking for ways to transport and use it easily and quickly.

Have any of you managed to secure it in a flight case with its dedicated router.

Do you have a reference for such a flightcase?

Thanks to all

The Vizion HP tower unit can be rack mounted, it will be 4RU in size. Vizrt does sell a Rail Rack Kit for Vizion Tower (it's the HP Fixed Rail Rack Kit).

I believe that to be the one. The Vizion tower system is a HP Z4 G5 workstation. I don't think we have any rack kits listed on the website, but our Vizrt partners can order it.

You can get the TriCaster Vizion HP Z4 G5 Rack system, which is in a 1RU formfactor. Note that this system supports a maximum of 1x SDI I/O card and has redundant power supplies.

Yes, we saw this model. However, we are looking for keeping SDI connection (instead NDI for latency reasons).
16 SDI port will be very useful for us. we have reached TC1 limits about this 🤓

Your product are really awesome 😍

A few years ago the Tc1 and 2 were updated and would convert sdi to ndi before processing adding 1.5 - 2 frames of latency. Yes that can be faster than some sdi to ndi converters but do some testing to make sure you are not limiting your data flow for latency and not getting the benefit.

Beware that the official rack mount solution is 30" deep, requires a minimum 24" front to back rail distance and that the Vizion is only secured to it by two screws on the back of the unit. I would not suggest it for a mobile unit.

Kane,
Why is there no instructions with these rack kits? If I'm technically not doing the client install on a system because they traded up, there is no reason why with the Z rack kit shouldn't have instructions in the box. Do you have any or can acquire? I have a client in need of this who just took delivery of a new 8 I/O system tower. I shouldn't have to put a tech on the phone to explain or not eat a charge to send one onsite for this. Thanks, Dom

I've personally not seen what comes with the kits. My understanding is that they are the HP rack kits. Perhaps, the instructions are available via URL or QR code? I'd have them contact support to see if there is additional information which can be provided.

We just received the Tricaster Vizion tower version. We wanted to rack it to transport it to our events. The rail rack kit we received is for a 1000mm deep server rack. (sad) Why didn't the seller let us know?
Much too deep for flycases. What a disappointment. We'll have to find another solution.
Has anyone here racked it? How?

Hello,
I wanted to share with you our transport solution for our Tricaster Vizion.
It was mounted in a rolling fly on a standard shelf. The HP shelf is designed for a deeper rack.
It is attached to the shelf using straps.
The connections have been offset for better ergonomics and to limit hardware issues. A drawer stores all the necessary accessories (keyboard, mouse, speakers, streamdeck, cables, etc.)

Here are some photos.

I’ve faced a similar issue before , it’s tricky since it’s not rackable. Using a custom flight case with foam padding for both the unit and router worked well for me. Keeps everything secure, portable, and quick to set up.

I thougt there is a rack mount kit for HP Z4 available by now, at least this is what dealer channel is telling me over here.
Thinking indeed to upgrade my TC2E to Vizion (tower) within the current vizrt loyalty program period

The rack mount kit is for server rack, very too long to put in fly case (Dimensions minimales (L x P x H) : 7,62 x 48,34 x 78,75 cm)

There is most certainly a rack kit for the Vizion Tower units. dims are: Tower - 17.5" x 15.2" x 6.65" / And for 1RU server rack there are super secure shockmount cases that are 28" deep from SKB, we've sold a good bit to military for Tricaster systems over the years. https://www.skbcases.com/products/10-u-28-inch-deep-r-series-shock-rack
