Existential questions for a newbie on v5

Hello, I just submitted and passed my Viz Artist Storytelling Exam.
After this time on Viz Artist I accountered a few subjects I would like to address with you. I'm sure you have the answers.
  • How to open multiple scenes in parralel ? I had an issue because I lost part of an animation and wasn't able to easily copy values from an old scene to my new one.
  • What is the best practice to isolate a container and work inside without affecting everybody around. I would like to avoid to open a another scene since I don't know how to open multiple scene at the same time.
  • Is it possible to control inside container's animations from the "root" scene without using actions?
  • Is there a keyboard shortcut to add keyframe? How to add keyframe on multiple channels at the same time?
  • How to add folders in the stage to organize things?

  • How to open multiple scenes in parralel ? I had an issue because I lost part of an animation and wasn't able to easily copy values from an old scene to my new one. there is no easy solution. in some cases you can use the layers with success but you can't copy/paste, you have to marge objects and save them to the database - then load them in other scene/s
    if you keep the object marged you can change it in another scene and update the db geometry which will update all the scenes that uses this geometry.
  • What is the best practice to isolate a container and work inside without affecting everybody around. I would like to avoid to open a another scene since I don't know how to open multiple scene at the same time. Same as above: marge -> open in a new scene -> update data base object - be aware that if you use non default camera scaling may be effected
  • Is it possible to control inside container's animations from the "root" scene without using actions? script it

  • How to add folders in the stage to organize things? they are called directors, right click to add, drag them as you wish, in each other, up or down
