Audio Issues

I'm using "Sound" to play background music in Vizion. It works fine at first, but after a few days, the audio becomes choppy and noise. Playback only returns to normal if I switch to a different session and then back to the current one; this has happened multiple times. It is extremely embarrassing when this occurs during a live broadcast.

The music files are in WAV format with a 48kHz sample rate.

Is this a software bug, or is there a specific setting I need to adjust?

What SW version are you on your Vizion?

Just an idea/tought after reading this in TCVizion Notes:

Btw, 8-6-260804 (Hot Fix) is currently the latest.

I had a similar issue last week after installing the latest OS. All the audio coming out of Vizion was sort of noisy and crunchy/stat-icy. Also had display issues with one of the Multiviewers. We uninstalled and then reinstalled the new OS update and those issues disappeared. We also had an issue when transcoding DDR videos. The audio was stripped from the video after the transcode. Also, we were unable to adjust audio delay on DDR's. We made the adjustment to the DDR's but no changes in delay-no matter by how many milliseconds we offset it-was discernable.

Did you update Nvidia then too?
Think v582.41 is still the recommended one (as mentioned in 8-5-260504 TCVIZIONNotes).

DDR´s adjust audio delay might be a new one and you may want to contact support on this.

leo.yon, please send a ticket in into support, and please use this tool to collect all data, the session logs (and make sure you are reproducing the problem in the last 5 session run).

I suspect the issue was caused by the background music being set to loop. Since the TriCaster is typically restarted only once a week, the music would keep looping continuously; however, because the volume was turned all the way down after each playback, it wasn't audible, so the issue went unnoticed.

I have now disabled the loop mode, and the problem hasn't recurred over the past few days. I will continue to monitor the situation for a while.

Thank you Leo letting us know about your findings - glad you sorted it out digging a bit further into your current session setup configuration (y)
