Hi,

Data Material plugin is not working as we used it before. Does anyone know if anything has changed? I've read the manuals, tried different computers and rebuilt.

Its a simple plugin and if anyone has any ideas that would be greatly appreciated.

This syntax works
COLOUR=COLOR 255 255 0;

COLOUR=DIFFUSE 255 0 0;

You are absolutely right. According to the releasenotes they did change something.
DP-214: Add built-in color options to DataMaterial instead of requiring prefix and support more value formats.
My old training scenes dont work anymore either using this method.
COLOUR=MATERIAL MATERIAL*GLOBALS/IMAGES/PARTY/LIB

A workaround would be to script the material codes and refere to them as a variable that way. Instead of DataPool.This is probably quicker than supportcases unfortunately. I have already set up a case with Case Number 00081178 anyway, so lets see what happens.

That is another great option. Might even be more optimized than Data Pool.

Attached is the workaround we did still using DP Material.

Quick update Charlotte. The case I set up has now been set to In Development, so hopefully it will be fixed soon.

Hi Charlotte,
A year down the line and I now finally have a reply to the supportcase. As I said about the timing of supportcases.......
The reply was:
the fix version for this will be Engine 4.1 which is currently scheduled for March 2020.

I have tested it in 4.1 and it seems to work again on that version, but that still doesnt help backward compatibility.
